European Cyclists' Federation: Cities & Regions for Cyclists

South Dublin County Council is proud to announce that we have joined other governmental/non- governmental organisations across the world in the Cities & Regions for Cyclists network!

European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) is the organisation behind this network. ECF are a non-profit organisation advocating for safer cycling across Europe and the inclusion of all in Cycling. They actively lobby for further investment in cycling infrastructure as well as the political support for cycling as an alternative commuting option.

Membership in Cities & regions for Cyclists offer South Dublin County Council an abundance of benefits. The first being offered attendance to the yearly Velo-City conference where cycling as a mode of transport is discussed amongst members of this network and experts alike! ECF provide expertise and resources that have a proven track record in implementing real change in sustainable transport.

Other benefits of membership in this network include advocacy from European Cyclists' Federation on the active travel schemes being implemented by South Dublin County Council and participation in annual memberships where networking with other members can be achieved as well as brainstorming on best practice for cycling infrastructure and travel.
